Gatorland opens Guzzlin' Gator, adds Crooked Can beer collaboration
Gatorland has introduced a new place for park visitors to buy a brew, and it has developed a new beer to buy there. Now open at the longtime attraction is the Guzzlin’ Gator Beverage Barn, which serves Grinnin’ Gator Lager.
The beer is a partnership with Crooked Can Brewing Company of Winter Garden.
"We wanted to stay local and work with a family-owned business, just like us,” Mark McHugh, Gatorland president and CEO, said in a news release. “Our new Grinnin' Gator craft beer is a good combination of an easy-drinking lager style that is fun and playful, just like we are right here at Gatorland."
Grinnin’ Gator is a pale German lager brewed in the manner of a Munich-style helles with pilsen malt.
"Together we are pouring the spirit of Florida in our Grinnin' Gator beer, and we can't wait for Gatorland's guests to take a bite out of this exciting collaboration,” said Paul Bishop, Cooked Can’s general manager.
The Guzzlin’ Gator Beverage Barn is an open-air structure with bar stools, picnic tables and a “to go” area designed for strolling Gatorland visitors. It’s located along the western edge of the South Orange Blossom Trail attraction, near Pearl’s Good Eats and the Bobcat Bayou area. It features views of the park’s zipline and rock-climbing attractions.
Its addition was prompted by guest feedback, McHugh said.
"Guzzlin' Gator was imagined as a relaxing spot to enjoy a cold beverage on a hot day and as a place to meet up with the rest of the family or rest of the group during the day," he said.
Guzzlin’s Gator will operate from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily with multiple beers, ciders, seltzers, canned cocktails, wine on tap and nonalcoholic beverages. The gift shop near the front of the park will stock Guzzlin' Gator merchandise.
