Furniture Flipper Uses Fabric Spray Paint to Turn 'Crusty' 99-Cent Armchair Into a 'King's Throne'
Furniture flipper Logan Schroering, known online as @loganlists, specializes in turning trash into treasure. So when it was 99-cent day at his local thrift store, he decided to take one of his biggest risks yet.
At the store, Schroering came across an old light green armchair for just 99 cents. The chair, which he described as "nasty" and "crusty," featured dirty and faded upholstery and questionable smells, so Schroering knew it would take a lot of TLC to bring it back to life. And as someone who watches a lot of @loganlists videos on social media, I had faith he was up to the task - but what I didn't expect was for him to cover the fabric chair with spray paint!

Furniture Flipper @LoganLists Set Out to Restore a 'Nasty' 99-Cent Armchair
"Y'all, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not sure we're going to be able to clean this," Schroering said in a YouTube Short after taking the armchair home. But still, he got to work. First, he unzipped the slipcover from the seat cushion, put it in the wash and let it air dry.
Next, Schroering used a hose to spray down the chair with water. Then, he used a Hoover Smartwash vacuum cleaner (filled with a lot of cleaning solution) with an attachment to clean the chair and extract as much dirt as he could.
Then, he removed the wooden trim and legs from the chair, and used a chemical stripper followed by acetone before scraping off the wood stain. Next, he spray painted the wooden pieces with primer followed by a gold spray paint.

Then, Logan Schroering Sprayed the Chair With Fabric Paint
Even after all the cleaning attempts Schroering made, the fabric still looked shabby. So, he decided to try something new: painting the chair's upholstery.
He ordered a product called Fabricoat: Fabric Paint for Furniture in a dark green shade. He attached the bottle of paint to an electric paint sprayer, and then sprayed the chair with one coat of paint. Once the coat dried, you could still see the light green color coming through, so he decided to apply one more coat - and then it actually looked pretty fantastic.
"This is actually crazy. It looks brand new," Schroering said.
And finally, once the fabric paint was completely dry, Schroering reattached the gold wood legs and trim - resulting in a chair that he thought looked like a "king's throne."
"I had no faith in this, but I absolutely love how this turned out," he concluded.
