Joni Lamb's Husband Marcus Lamb's Cause of Death: How Did He Die?

Daystar Entertainment's tribute post to broadcaster Joni Lamb, who has died at age 65, prominently mentions her deceased husband, Marcus Lamb.

He, too, died fairly young, only one year younger than she was when she passed away. Joni Lamb's cause of death is not clear, although it stems in part from complications due to a back injury. However, what was Marc Lamb's cause of death? And when did Joni Lamb remarry?

Joni and Marcus Lamb founded Daystar Entertainment, which wrote on May 7, "With heavy hearts, we share the news that Joni Lamb graduated to Heaven this morning. We know that she is in the presence of Jesus, reunited with Marcus, and receiving her reward for a beautiful life lived in surrender to the Lord."

According to CNN, Marc Lamb, a Christian televangelist, died after being hospitalized for COVID-19.

His wife Joni Lamb spoke about his cause of death in a video that has since been deleted.

"He never talked about that, but he had diabetes, but he kept it in check. He was very healthy, he ate healthy, he kept his weight down, and always kept his sugar at a good level," she revealed in the video, according to CNN. "But with trying to treat Covid and the pneumonia, the different protocols that are used, including many of the protocols we talked about here on Daystar, and we used those, and I used them and breezed through Covid."

She added that her husband used protocols that "caused his blood sugar to spike and just a decrease in his oxygen and that's why he went to the hospital, so he could have oxygen." According to Joni Lamb, Marcus Lamb's "heart just gave out."

NBC News reported that Marcus Lamb, who spoke against vaccines, was 64 years old when he died. According to NBC, Joni Lamb spoke from her husband's bedside during a broadcast, saying, "With this thing, it's kind of like riding a roller coaster."

"It's like, you'll just be up and everything's great, and then you have a little lull, and then you come down low and then you come back up, but from everybody that I talk to - I think that's the pattern," she said, adding, "Pray specifically for his lungs to clear the Covid pneumonia and pray for his oxygen level to continue to be strong and to go up so that we can wean him off of oxygen and bring him home."

Marcus Lamb's marriage to Joni was not without difficulty. Marcus admitted to having an extra marital affair during an appearance on national television, alleging "that three people demanded $7.5 million from him to stay quiet about his infidelity," CBS News reported.According to Newsweek, a Paycheck Protection Program loan was returned after causing controversy. Controversy emerged surrounding the couple's son Jonathan Lamb, with Joni claiming that the succession plan for Daystar led to family difficulties. Jonathan posted a family photo on X after his mom died.

"Thank you for your prayers. God will carry us through," he wrote.

"DayStar is rooted in Pentecostalism, the Christian tradition known for its spirit-filled worship, and its belief in modern-day miracles and everyday battles with evil influences," CBS News reported at the time. "The network airs some of the highest-profile evangelists in the world, including Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar and Joyce Meyers."

Joni Lamb Took a 2nd Husband Named Dr. Doug Weiss, Who Appeared on Her Show

Two years after Marcus Lamb died, Joni Lamb married again. "She remarried in 2023 to Dr. Doug Weiss," according to CBN.

He appeared on Joni's show, Joni Table Talk on Daystar. Dr. Doug Weiss "reveals the hidden weight that keeps people stuck, the kind of pain that lingers in your body, clouds your spirit, and even hinders you from walking in your destiny," reads the caption on one appearance.

Joni wrote about the new marriage in a post on New Charisma, acknowledging that it caused some controversy. "There was no real desire in me for a relationship. I want to make that crystal clear. I wasn't looking and had no need to do so," she wrote. "So many people have judged my timeline from Marcus' death to my marriage to Doug. They question how I could have grieved enough in seven months to even think about talking to someone else. They think that's not enough time."

She added: "All I can say is that each person processes grief differently. For me, this was the timeline I was on...When Doug came into my life, it felt like a refreshing rain saturating the drought in my soul and bringing a sense of newness. Yet his arrival definitely shook things up. Along with the excitement there was some turbulence and downed limbs, so to speak, that had to be taken care of. But it was so worth it because of the refreshing new life. And I always knew no one would be happier for me than my late husband, whom I adored. It's like Doug was the something I didn't even know I needed or was missing."

Weiss is "is a psychologist and host known for his work with sexual addiction."

In April, Joni wrote on Instagram, "Celebrating my wonderful husband @drdougweiss today! I am so grateful for his wisdom, strength, and heart for the Lord. Help me wish him a very happy birthday!"
