Netflix Has Canceled 10 Total Shows So Far This Year Including 'The Abandons'

It's been an eventful start to the 2026 calendar year for Netflix, which stunned Hollywood late last year when it announced plans to acquire Warner Bros for nearly $83 billion.

While that deal eventually fell through, the streaming giant continues to dominate the headlines with releases like the final season of Stranger Things and hit movies like The Rip and War Machine.

Not everything can be a hit, though, and Netflix has already pulled the plug on 10 shows so far this year.

Netflix Cancels ‘Miss Governor' After Mid-Season Name Change

One of the 10 shows canceled in 2026 came after the show went through a mid-season name change. Miss Governor, initially named She The People, was canceled by the streaming giant earlier this winter.

The series focuses on Antoinette Dunkerson, played by Terri J. Vaughn, who also served as a creator for the show.

"As she tries to shine in politics, Mississippi's first Black lieutenant governor must manage her zany family and overcome a boss who's stuck in the past," the tagline of the show from Netflix reads.

Netflix Cancels ‘Class' Before Its Second Season

The show initially debuted on Feb. 3, 2023 and wasn't an initial hit for the international market, but did find big regional success, spending seven weeks in the Top 10 in India, and five weeks in both Bangladesh and Pakistan.

After initially being greenlit for a second season, the show came to an abrupt and mysterious end.

'Alice in Borderland' Comes to an End

While fans hoped for another season, Netflix subtly revealed the show was canceled in a release.

"Fans also flocked to titles from Japan like Last Samurai Standing Season 1 (21M) and third and final season of Alice in Borderland (25M). The Elixir (23M) from Indonesia and The Ba***ds of Bollywood Season 1 (10M) from India also stood out," the release said.

Seven Other Shows Canceled in 2026

While those were just some of the highlighted cancellations, seven other shows are coming to end as well.

  • The Abandons
  • Terminator Zero
  • The Vince Staples Show
  • Pop The Balloon LIVE
  • Selling the City
  • With Love, Meghan

One of the biggest shows ending is The Night Agent, which was awarded a fourth season, but won't be going beyond. After an incredible start in Season 1, viewership dipped heavily in Seasons 2 and 3 and while Netflix liked the third season creatively, it opted to end the series after four seasons.
