Nine million colorful tulips in full bloom

More than nine million tulips have returned to bloom, stretching across 20 acres - just five minutes from the King's Estate.

The striking flowers are the equivalent of 15 football pitches - to create an amazing sea of red, yellow and purple.

Some 31,000 people are set to visit the beautiful fields from April 16 for the next eleven days.

Planted in October last year, the tulips sit in Hillington, Norfolk - around three miles from the Sandringham Estate.

The tulips were planted by local farmer Mark Eves and organized by Norfolk Hospice Tapping House.

Tickets to visit the fields were priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children and have now sold out.

Nicola Ellis, chief executive officer at Tapping House, said: "We are thrilled to be opening Tulips for Tapping for its sixth year.

"The generosity of everyone who comes along – travelling from near and far to offer their support – never ceases to amaze us.

"Tapping House is an independent charity providing free rest-of-life care to people in West Norfolk and North Cambridgeshire, and our services are reliant on the income of events such as these.

"It's an honor to welcome visitors back for another year to help generate the income needed to keep our hospice running."
