Clavicular: 5 Biggest Controversies of ‘Looksmaxxing' Influencer

The manosphere influencer Clavicular has sparked controversy again after his livestream suddenly halted due to an alleged overdose.

Braden Peters, AKA ‘Clavicular', 20, who lives in Miami, Florida, is known online for promoting “looksmaxxing,” a catch‑all term used to describe attempts to “maximize” physical attractiveness. Newsweek reached out to Peters for comment via his social-media channels.

He has openly advocated for extreme practices, including “bone smashing”-deliberately striking the face with a hammer in an effort to appear more chiseled-as well as the use of peptides, synthetic compounds often tied to bodybuilding and biohacking that some believe can affect fat loss, muscle growth, or hormone regulation. He has also spoken about using drugs to suppress appetite.

Below are the five biggest controversies tied to Peters in recent months.

1) Suspected Overdose After Miami Livestream Abruptly Cuts Off

On Tuesday, April 14, Peters appeared in a Kick livestream filmed around a mall and later a bar in Miami, where viewers saw him speaking with slurred speech and repeatedly saying: “Holy s***, dude, I'm trying my best, but I'm f****** destroyed right now.”

In the same broadcast, fellow influencer Androgenic asked Peters, “When did you last take blue?” and later appeared to offer him an “addy,” commonly used as shorthand for Adderall, a prescription ADHD medication. Soon after, the livestream cut off.

People confirmed Peters was taken to an emergency room following a suspected overdose, though it was not immediately clear what substances-if any-he had taken. LADbible said that Androgenic later posted that Peters became “fairly unresponsive” within seconds and that those present ended the stream and rushed him to the hospital.

2) Walking Out of a ’60 Minutes Australia’ Interview After Andrew Tate Questions

Just days before the Miami incident, Peters went viral for ending an interview early with 60 Minutes Australia. In the segment, correspondent Adam Hegarty pressed him on the origins of looksmaxxing and its connections to the incel/manosphere ecosystem; Peters bristled at the sequence of questions and later became visibly irritated when asked about his associations with Andrew Tate.

“I see you want to make this political,” he said.

A spokesperson for Peters told People, as reported by Yahoo, that he is “an expert on looksmaxing, not politics,” and suggested he ended the interview because he felt the line of questioning was outside his “expertise.”

3) Arrested on Battery and Conspiracy Allegations Linked to a Livestreamed Fight

Peters was arrested on March 26 in Fort Lauderdale on charges of misdemeanor battery and criminal conspiracy to commit battery. He spent one night in the Broward County Jail and was later released on bond.

The arrest came after his girlfriend, Violet Lentz, 24, turned herself in to police days later in connection with the same incident. Lentz surrendered to authorities and was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a misdemeanor battery charge, according to local law enforcement. She was released early the following morning after posting $1,000 bail.

The charges stemmed from a February 2 altercation at a short‑term rental near Kissimmee, Florida, where a fight between Lentz and another influencer unfolded while Peters was livestreaming to his audience. The other woman involved in the incident was 19 years old, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities alleged the confrontation escalated from a verbal dispute into a physical fight and said it was encouraged by Lentz's boyfriend, Peters.

Investigators said Peters instigated the altercation, continued filming as it turned violent, and later posted the footage online in what authorities described as an effort to “exploit the two women” and boost viewership.

Deputies responded to the Airbnb shortly after 4 a.m. following a 911 call from the 19‑year‑old woman, who reported she had been battered. According to police, neither Peters nor Lentz cooperated with officers at the scene.

“Neither Peters nor the other suspect spoke with deputies at the scene,” authorities said.

4) Under Investigation After Video Appeared to Show Alligator Being Shot in the Everglades

Peters also drew condemnation after a viral clip circulated showing people on an airboat in the Everglades appearing to fire multiple shots at an alligator in March.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said it was aware of the video and that officers were looking into the incident.

5) Cybertruck Livestream That Appeared to Show a Pedestrian Being Hit

One of Peters' most-notorious earlier controversies came in December 2025, when he was livestreaming while driving a Tesla Cybertruck. Footage circulated that appeared to show the vehicle moving forward while a person was positioned across the front windshield area.

TMZ reported that Kick removed Peters from the platform shortly after clips went viral and said it was unclear whether anyone was seriously injured or whether authorities had confirmed an investigation at the time.
