Pup Arrived at Shelter With Severe Mange-Tears at Why She's Still There

A 2-year-old dog who arrived at a California shelter in heartbreaking condition has now made an incredible recovery-but she is still waiting for someone to take her home.

In a viral TikTok video shared on April 4 under the username @valleyanimalcenter, the pup is seen lying quietly on a pile of blankets inside her kennel at the shelter.

She looks around with a sad expression on her face, appearing hopeful as if someone might come for her. The calm but emotional clip has struck a chord with viewers, drawing attention to her long wait for adoption.

The video's caption reflects that sense of patience and longing: "Many months have gone by, and you're still hoping and waiting to be picked…"

Jackie Gonzalez, a volunteer at the Valley Animal Center in Fresno, California, shared more about the dog's journey in a statement to Newsweek. According to the Gonzalez, the dog's name is Priscilla, and her condition upon arrival was heartbreaking.

"Meet Priscilla, a 2-year-old bulldog mix who came to us from a local animal shelter in heartbreaking condition. She arrived with severe mange and needed immediate medical care. With time, treatment, and lots of love, Priscilla has made an incredible recovery," Gonzalez said.

That recovery has been significant. Once struggling with severe mange, Priscilla is now fully healed after months of care. Her transformation highlights the impact of consistent medical treatment and attention from shelter staff and volunteers who worked to nurse her back to health.

Gonzalez explained that Priscilla's progress goes beyond physical healing. Today, she is described as friendly and affectionate, especially around people and other dogs.

"Today, she is fully healed, super dog-friendly, and absolutely loves people. Her sweet personality shines through, and all she's waiting for now is a second chance at life in a loving home where she can truly thrive," she added.

Despite her improvement and gentle nature, Priscilla remains at the shelter, continuing to wait for adoption. She is currently located at the Valley Animal Center in Fresno, California, where staff hope she will soon find the attention she deserves.

The TikTok video has quickly gained traction on social media. So far, it has received more than 115,600 views and 12,500 likes, amplifying Priscilla's story to a wider audience.

One user, Avíen OO, commented: "Someone help her! Look at that face! She needs to be rescued. Sending positivity your way."

R.B.Coldiron added: "She's such a cutie!!! Please give an update if adopted I pray she finds a loving home with a sweet face like hers. I would but in Ohio."
