Homeowner Finds Old Dog Kennel in Yard, What They Do Next Amazes Internet

A homeowner has gone viral after revealing how they completely transformed an awkward outdoor space.

The video, shared on TikTok by @ciciandjackjack, opens with a photo of a narrow, unused area down the side of the house. On‑screen text explains that when the family first moved in, the space was occupied by a rundown kennel left behind by the previous owners.

The next clip shows the kennel demolished, with the area cleared and cleaned. From there, the transformation ramps up: a new fence is installed, followed by footage of two rabbits-Cici and Jack Jack-exploring what the creator describes as their "24ft long rabbit shed."

The final reveal shows a spacious, state‑of‑the‑art rabbit home, complete with solid flooring, secure fencing, furniture, hay stations, and decorative touches designed specifically for the pair.

"From an awkward, unused space when we first moved in-to my 24ft long rabbit shed," the creator wrote.

The caption explained that the enclosure was fully predator‑proof and designed to protect the rabbits from the elements, while still giving them room to move naturally.

"Predator proof and protected from the elements, this gives them plenty space to run, hop & binky," the caption read. "They also have free roam of our garden when supervised."

According to the Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund, outdoor rabbits need far more than a traditional hutch, recommending a single, continuous enclosure of at least 3m by 2m with enough height to allow running, jumping, and standing upright-something small hutches often fail to provide. The organization also notes that converted garden sheds can make excellent rabbit housing when properly secured and weatherproofed.

The RSPCA similarly warns that cramped housing can negatively affect rabbits' physical and mental health, stressing the importance of space, shelter, and the ability to express natural behaviors like hopping, stretching, and binkying.

The post quickly struck a chord with viewers, who viewed it over 90,000 times and flooded the comments with praise for the thoughtful design and clear prioritization of the animals' welfare.

"Oh they are some spoiled buns!" one user, Emma, wrote.

"Two amazing happy rabbits. If anyone is going to have a pet, no matter how big or small, they should be one of your family and given the best life possible," added Sarah Clar.

"So clever and imaginative. Lucky bunnies. Well done," Maria commented.

Others were equally emotional after seeing the finished space.

"This is so beautiful, what a perfect owner you are," wrote Deb.

"Hi MTV and welcome to my crib," joked another viewer, Robyn.

"Your rabbits have a nicer home than I do… it really is beautiful!" another user added.

"Oh my goodness this has literally made me well up. What a fabulous idea, two very lucky bunnies," Linda commented.
