Zak the Baker’s Zak Stern OK after stroke

The bad news: Zak Stern, aka Zak the Baker, had a stroke on Sunday.

The good news: He was well enough to post on social media, announcing his health scare on Instagram.

Stern’s pic looks out the back of an ambulance with the caption: “One minute you’re chilling, the next minute you’re having a stroke!” At least Stern, who is married to business partner Batsheva Wulfsohn, hasn’t lost his sense of humor. A later post shows a picture of a plate that looks to be grilled chicken, carrots and mashed potatoes. “What’s the point of passing your deductible if you can’t enjoy the delicacy of hospital food!”

On a serious note, the 30-year-old writes: “I’m now stable, but I will need to cut stress and take care of myself better. Thanks for the love and support everyone.”

Stern was chosen in Miami Herald’s Food 50 list last year.
