Ex ‘Real Housewives’ star arrested during kids’ dropoff at Publix: ‘Mommy hit daddy’

Julianne “Jules” Wainstein left “Real Housewives of New York City” star back in 2016, but apparently her life is still filled with drama.

The former reality star was arrested Sunday after an alleged altercation with her estranged husband, Michael Wainstein, in Boca Raton, Page Six first reported.

According to a police report obtained by the Miami Herald, officers responding to a domestic disturbance call made contact with Michael Wainstein who told officers he was “assaulted by his soon to be ex wife.”

The 40-year-old explained that he and Julianne had agreed to meet around noon at a Publix parking lot at 1968 NE Fifth Ave. for a custody exchange of their two children. This is the second time the two have done the pickup/dropoff of Jagger, 10, and Isla Rio, 7, at this location, the report said.

The businessman told authorities that he began to record his ex “because he felt threatened from earlier phone calls from Julianne saying she wanted for him to pay her [expletive] child support and was upset about a former payment not going through,” the complaint said.

When Michael exited the car, he told officers that Julianne became “very agitated” and grabbed a baseball bat from her back seat, place it on the ground, then attempt to grab his phone.

“While doing so, according to Michael, Julianne punched him in the face” as well as scratched him, the arrest report said.

Officers on the scene asked the children if they had witnessed anything and the report says that Isla Rio told them she saw “mommy hit daddy.”

After reviewing the video of the alleged incident, officers found Michael’s statement to be “accurate” and saw injuries consistent with the Miami Beach resident’s story. They made contact with the onetime Bravolebrity, who now works in the wellness field, at her Boca home.

The FIT grad said that Michael was “harassing” her by videotaping the exchange and that she carried around a bat in her car for “protection.” She admitted that she was “angry” and “smacked” him.

Julianne Wainstein was placed under arrest, charged with domestic battery and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.

Michael Wainstein obtained a restraining order against his wife and currently has custody of the children. The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified, the report said.

“This is a serious situation reflecting Ms. Wainstein’s increasingly reckless behavior that unfortunately took place in front of the kids,” his lawyer, Morghan Richardson, told Page Six. “The children were released to Michael’s custody yesterday and he is most concerned about protecting them.”
