Gabrielle Union is not going to be quiet. Ever.

The “Being Mary Jane” star appeared Tuesday on “Good Morning America” to discuss her new book, “We’re Going to Need More Wine: Stories That Are Funny, Complicated, and True.” The actress will also appear later this month at Books & Books to promote the memoir.

Union has a lot in common with other women who have come forward with bombshell revelations about mega producer Harvey Weinstein. The Hollywood businessman is in a rehab facility reportedly for sex addiction after reports surfaced that he harassed and assaulted women for dozens of years.

Union has talked about being raped at gunpoint when she was 19 in the backroom at a Payless where she worked in California. Now she has seen thousands come forward with their own assault stories on social media with the hashtag #metoo.

“For 20 years now, I’ve been trying to tell my story as honestly as possible and basically with the goal of never having to hear ‘me too’ ever again,” said the 44-year-old, who is married to NBA star Dwyane Wade. “And I talk about that in my book, so it was wild the other night to see #MeToo trending.” (Alyssa Milano launched the #MeToo movement on Sunday).

Union says she feels less alone now.

“I thought it was all about me, and when I realized literally hundreds of thousands of people, men and women, [were] talking about being a part of this unfortunate club.”

Hopefully, the conversation doesn’t die down.

“I will continue to keep talking about it. I will continue to keep educating,” she said. “You see so much now with victim-blaming and victim-shaming and really trying to put the onus on the victim and trying to say that there’s some right way to deal with trauma.”

See Union 8 p.m. Oct. 27 at Books and Books, 265 Aragon Ave., in Coral Gables. The event requires the purchase of the book; for more information: 305-442-4408 or BooksAndBooks.com.
