This European metropolis was recently named the safest and friendliest in the continent

The warmth of the locals is a major factor to consider when deciding where to travel next. After all, even the most spectacular sights can’t make up for a vacation spot that makes you feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. Thankfully, many locations already have solid reputations for friendliness.

But where can you find the warmest welcome? Although friendliness may be difficult to assess, the luggage storage company Bounce has attempted to do so. According to TimeOut, Bounce ranked European cities on a wide range of metrics, including crime, happiness, and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community.

The city of Zurich, Switzerland, topped Bounce’s study. The Swiss city has been deemed the most welcoming in Europe, having received a perfect score of AAA for its acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community, in addition to high marks for happiness and low crime rates.

Copenhagen ranked second, also in large part due to its high levels of happiness and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community, and third was Munich, which reportedly has exceptionally low crime rates.

According to Bounce’s research, these are the ten friendliest cities in Europe right now:

4. Amsterdam, Netherlands

5. Vienna, Austria

6. Stockholm, Sweden
