Dolphins’ Landry, Maxwell fined for Week 7 violations
As expected, Jarvis Landry was fined some $24,000 for his potentially career-ending hit on Aaron Williams, but he wasn’t the only Dolphins punished by the league.
The NFL also assessed Byron Maxwell a $9,115 fine for taunting the Bills last Sunday. The Dolphins cornerback received a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct after a five-yard run by Mike Gillislee late in Miami’s 28-25 victory over Buffalo.
NFL Network reported Thursday Landry would be fined for his high crack-back block on Williams, which sent the Bills safety to the hospital. Speaking to the Associated Press recently, Williams’ father suggested that his son might not ever play again.
No Dolphins player will commit a fine-worthy penalty this weekend; Miami has its bye and will return to practice early next week.
