She was in the parent pick-up line at school. So she snorted some cocaine, police say
A woman in Fort Myers, Florida, has been jailed on possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia after police say she ingested cocaine while waiting in the pick-up line of a middle school on Wednesday.
According to WTVJ, 39-year-old Christina Hester was in her car in the pick-up line at Lexington Middle School in Lee County, Florida, when she was observed by a officer patrolling the inside of the school snorting a white powder through a straw.
According to WFLA, the officer was on the second floor of the school when he saw Hester chopping the powder with a credit card on the back of her iPhone case.
The officer brought Hester inside his office, per WFTX, and asked her if she had anything in her car. Hester allegedly responded that she had “a little bit of drugs.”
The officer conducted a field test on the powder, which was confirmed to be cocaine. Police say they recovered more straws inside Hester’s car, as well as 0.5 grams of cocaine in her purse.
It is not immediately clear whether Hester is the mother of a child at the school.
According to jail records, Hester’s bond has been set at $6,500. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
