North Dade home has 22-year tradition of bright Christmas lights
For 22 years, Anibel Costanso has adorned his Highland Lakes home with a bright display of light and lawn figures during the Christmas season.
One of the brighter corners in his North Miami-Dade neighborhood, the Costanso home features Santa and his reindeer on the roof, a Nativity scene in the front yard and cheerful lawn figures that include Yoda and Big Bird. Front-and-center, a digital clock counts down each second til Christmas.
“It’s a lot of work,” Costanso said Friday evening. “I do it alone.”
His display at 2000 NE 211th St. is on from about 6 to 11 p.m. every night. Closer to Christmas, he leaves the lights on until about 1 a.m.
He keeps his collection of light-up figures in the attic of a warehouse that supplies his business, Buenos Aires Bakery.
