He died crossing the busy street. Now cops are looking for the hit-and-run driver.

He was trying to cross a busy Northwest Miami-Dade thoroughfare when he was hit by a white Toyota Rav4, police say.

The driver of the SUV, however, never stopped to make sure the man was OK.

The man, identified by Miami-Dade police as 51-year-old Auguste Friznel, died from his injuries.

Now, police detectives are hoping surveillance video and pictures will help them locate the driver of the SUV.

Police say the deadly accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday as Friznel tried to cross Northwest Seventh Avenue at 103rd Street.

The SUV, described as a mid-2000s model with four doors and window tints, likely had damage to the front left headlight and yellow lens cover.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Police Department's Traffic Homicide Det. W. Milian at 305-471-2425 or Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
