A man was heading north on U.S. 1 in Key Largo over the weekend when the driver behind him began tailgating and flashing her headlights, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Soon after, the woman passed him. And as she did, she pointed a gun at him, investigators say.

The woman, identified as Christina Bonner, 29, from Northeast Miami-Dade, is now facing charges including improper use of a firearm and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The incident, which happened at about 11 p.m. Saturday, is the latest in a string of road-rage cases across South Florida.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man, whose wife and child were also in the car, called 911 after Bonner passed him at mile marker 90.

Bonner, who had a woman and child in her car, was stopped shortly after and a deputy found two handguns, one in the glove box and one in the center console.

Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also found in the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
