Home invaders caught on camera — before, during and after

Surveillance video captured the arrival, departure and part of a home invasion by a pair of men who interrupted a couple’s spiritual counseling session, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

BSO said Miguel Leyva and wife Ehlita Borjas were at the Fairview Apartments home of Vladimir Garcia and Yenisel Laguna on July 16 for the session when Leyva answered a knock at the door. Two masked men buffaloed their way into the apartment with guns drawn.

After the robbers noticed the security camera and disconnected it, BSO says, they battered Garcia in the face and back until he told them where they could find money. They left a half-hour later with cash, jewelry, computer equipment and keys to Garcia’s car and home. They threatened to return to kill Garcia.

Anyone with information on this crime should contact Detective Victor Carrasquillo at 954-321-4208 or Broward Crime Stoppers either online or at 954-493-8477.
