Photo of Parkland students doesn't indicate prom plans, parents tell TMZ

While Marjory Stoneman Douglas High's prom likely will have more members of Time's Most 100 Influential People of 2018 than any other prom in the nation, Cameron Kasky and David Hogg apparently won't be going together.

Kasky tweeted a Monday picture of him and Hogg with the caption, "Prom 2018." The photo and reaction seemed to indicate Kasky and David Hogg, two Parkland Marjory Stoneman Douglas High students-turned-activists, were hitting prom together.

But Rebecca Boldrick, Hogg's mother, told TMZ.com that Hogg has another date for the prom. Jeff Kasky, Cameron's dad, told TMZ, "Cameron and David love each other very much, as do the 20 or so other kids that are part of their group, but not in a romantic type of way."

Along with Alex Wind, Emma Gonzalez and Jaclyn Corin, Kasky and Hogg appeared on the cover of Time magazine in March and were named to Time's 100 Most Influential People list for their activism in favor of increased gun ownership regulation after the Feb. 14 mass shooting at the school.

The Stoneman Douglas High prom at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort represents another step on a return to normalcy, but will also include a memorial to the 14 students and three adults killed by Nikolas Cruz on Valentine's Day.
