Hallandale Beach police were at the school, 720 NW Ninth Ave., Thursday morning. The threat came amid increased security at Miami-Dade and Broward schools following Wednesday’s tragedy.

Hallandale police said in a late Thursday morning e-mail to The Herald, “Information was received this morning regarding a SnapChat/Instagram posting of threats of a shooting at Hallandale High. Extra presence had previously been placed at the high school, due to yesterday’s events. This threat is currently still being investigated, but thus far, there has been no activity.”

Not long before the killing of 17 people at Douglas High Wednesday, Hallandale High dealt with an unrelated bomb threat.
