Police identify robber shot by would-be victim in fatal Walmart encounter
Sunrise police released the name of the two people involved in Wednesday’s overnight fatal shooting in a Walmart parking lot.
The alleged attempted armed robber was 28-year-old Terrence G. Pearson. Pearson tried to rob Ervin L. Jones as the latter left Walmart following his shift. Pearson’s robbery attempt and life ended, police say, when Jones pulled out his own gun and fired.
Police said no charges will be filed against Jones at this time, but the case is being turned over to the State Attorney’s office.
