24-year-old woman shot to death in front of grandmother’s house
A 24-year-old woman was shot to death early Wednesday outside her grandmother’s house in Hallandale Beach.
Marlena Turnquist was shot as she was returning to the home at Southwest Seventh Avenue and Fourth Street after midnight. Gunfire also wounded Deneil Merritt, police said.
By Wednesday afternoon, Hallandale Beach police named 29-year-old Eddie Mosley, Merritt’s younger brother, as a suspect.
Police tweeted a picture of Mosley, who detectives say cut his hair at a Hollywood Barbershop Wednesday afternoon.

Mosley’s criminal record doesn’t include violence, but rather convictions for home burglary, grand theft, criminal mischief and misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Police said he took off on a bicycle after the shooting.
Turnquist’s grandmother found her bleeding, according to CBS4.
“She looked outside and my sister was lying in the ground,” China Preston said.
The family was planning on moving back to North Carolina in the next few days.
