An awareness effort for the public to “Support Real News” launched on Wednesday. The News Media Alliance, an industry group, is leading the campaign.

Highlighting the launch: a Facebook Live event at 2 p.m. The Alliance is encouraging people on social media to support journalists by using the hashtag #SupportRealNews.
