See the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy at the Olympia Theater on Aug. 27

If you’re counting down the days until “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” arrives on Dec. 16, the Alamo Drafthouse has a way to help you pass the time.

The U.S. theater chain and film distributor is hosting marathon screenings of the original “Star Wars” trilogy around the country this summer, including South Florida.

“A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” will be shown at the 1,274-seat Olympia Theater, 174 E. Flagler St. Showtime is 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. The movies will be projected digitally in their “Special Edition” incarnations (i.e. Greedo shoots first).

Tickets are $30-$60 and are available here. There will be costume contests, trivia games and other fan events between the movies.
