Why must there always be a Miami connection?
The former actress/producer, who is being represented by power lawyer Gloria Allred, recounted a disturbing 2008 run-in with Weinstein during a Tuesday press conference in L.A. that was livestreamed on Facebook.
Never miss a local story.
Geiss (whose acting credits include “Wishmaster 3: Beyond the Gates of Hell”) said she was attending the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, trying to get a script green-lighted. After a late night meeting at their mutual hotel’s restaurant, Geiss said Weinstein invited her back to reconvene the meeting at his “office,” which happened to be next to his room.
According to Geiss, she was “hesitant” to go because of rumors about the showbiz icon’s bad behavior. She said she agreed to go only if he promised not to touch her. They shook hands in the lobby in front of security cameras, she said.
In his office, the two “had a great conversation” about his current film and her script, said Geiss, who gave birth to a baby girl in August. “He seemed genuinely interested, and I was excited.”
Then, after about a half hour, she said Weinstein excused himself to use to the bathroom. “He returned in nothing but a robe with the front open and he was buck naked,” said Geiss, adding the fallen “Shakespeare in Love” producer then reportedly climbed into the hot tub.
“When I finished my pitch I was obviously nervous, and he just kept asking me to watch him masturbate,” said the mother of two, who is now in real estate. “I told him I was leaving. He quickly got out of the tub and grabbed my forearm as I was trying to grab my purse and led me to his bathroom, pleading that I just watch him masturbate.”
Geiss, while “ scared,” managed to escape, not before he kept begging her to watch him pleasure himself. If she did he would introduce her to his brother Bob Weinstein, get her a three picture deal and greenlight her script in exchange.
When people ask her why she left the film industry, Geiss said she would tell others this story.
“My parents raised me to be a strong, independent woman but I never thought I would have a chance to stand up against Harvey Weinstein.”
She ended the press conference in tears, saying she is coming forward now to bring attention to widespread abuse in the film industry.
“The window to end this soul-crushing behavior of sexually harassing women is only now just recently opened,” Geiss said. “We can all feel we’re really on the precipice of empowerment here and the journey to revolution. I implore other women to please stand up and come forward.”
Allred added that she wants “justice” for those who aren’t A-list stars.
