Wayne Odesnik of Weston was banned from the professional tour for 15 years for a second doping violation.

Odesnik, 29, who already served a suspension from April 2010 to August 2011 for importing human growth hormone to Australia, announced his retirement shortly after news of the current ban was released.

“In December 2014, I unknowingly ingested a contaminated over-the-counter supplement,” Odesnik said in a statement.

“Upon learning of my positive test result, I was heartbroken as words could not describe my shock and disappointment. Being the most tested American tennis player on tour, I would never knowingly have taken any chance of consuming a banned substance.”

He is considering legal action against the supplement supplier.
