Super Bowl 50 matchup to be set: Focus of final four has been Patriots-Broncos and Tom Brady-Peyton Manning in what could be Manning’s career swan song. But Cardinals-Panthers features the highest-scoring offenses and could be the better game.

Wade voted All-Star starter amid team’s struggles: Injury-wracked Miami has lost four games in a row and seven of their past eight. The good news? Ageless Dwyane Wade earned a 12th consecutive All-Star nod and 10th start.

Cats face Cup finalists: Florida, loser of four in a row after its 12-game winning streak, ended the slump Friday against Chicago and played Tampa Bay on Saturday. Cats’ division lead was down to one point entering the weekend.

UM men and women, both ranked, face huge home tests: The No. 16 Canes women host No. 14 Florida State on Sunday, then the No. 15 men host rival Duke on Monday. Mike Krzyzewski’s team has slumped recently and fallen to 20th. Still the Devils, though.

Miami Marathon/Half Marathon runs Sunday: The expected 23,000-plus runners will include Texan Larry Macon, 71, in his 1,606th marathon. That’s 42,077 miles in a lifetime of running. Big deal. I’ve already driven more than 7,000 miles in my new car in less than six months.
