People who will watch this beyond-awful, blight-on-the-NFL matchup likely fall into one of three categories: 1) Degenerates who have inexplicably bet big money on the outcome; 2) Hopeless fantasy-team owners relying desperately on a big game from Delanie Walker; or 3) Obliged immediate family of participating players. Otherwise the only interest in this game is morbid as both the Titans and Jaguars are in the mud with Tampa Bay and Oakland to see who will “earn” the overall No.1 draft pick. In that regard the winner of Thursday night’s bumfest will claim a Pyrrhic victory, which is why you may see the trailing team taking a knee in the closing minutes and a Gatorade bath for the losing coach. Tennessee beat Jacksonville 16-14 on Oct.12 but has since lost an NFL-worst eight consecutive games. Why stop now?
