Greg Cote’s Poll Dance: Should Dolfans prefer winning or No. 1 pick from ‘26? Vote
With much fanfare and after a week of advance leaks, the NFL officially released its 2026 schedule Thursday night. Now Miami Dolphins fans can see their path and realize -- for better or worse -- it’s tough enough to underline low expectations as the team rebuilds with a new regime.
Most betting odds have Miami’s wins over/under at 4.5, the lowest in the league along with Arizona. And now we know the Fins have the second-toughest schedule league-wide, facing opponents with a combined .542 winning percentage last year.
Result: If you want the Fins to shock the world and challenge for the playoffs, your hopes just got steeper. But if you want Miami to tank or be naturally bad and get the No. 1 overall draft pick in ‘27, your hopes are now buoyed.
So what should a Dolfan be hoping happens: Be playoffs-good? Or top-pick bad? Let’s all agree either extreme would beat the dreaded middle ground of 8-9 type mediocrity.
What are you hoping happens? Put another way: What’s best for a team at the onset of a major reboot?
As always, you may vote as many times as you like or until your fingers ache. Go!
GREG COTE’S POLL DANCE: What would you rather the Miami Dolphins do in 2026?
Previous Poll Dance result: Ouch. Failing grade for Ross as Dolphins owner: We asked: “What grade do you give Stephen Ross as Miami Dolphins owner?” Bigger than typical response. You said: D/Below average 59%, C/Average 17%, B/Above average 16%, and A/Excellent 8%. Combined and split another way, it was Average or below 76% and Above average or better 24%. Ouch.
