Cote’s Poll Dance: Want Hurricanes or Mendoza/Indiana to win national title? Vote!

Who do you want to win the College Football Playoff national championship game Monday night in Miami: the Miami Hurricanes or Indiana Hoosiers?

Might seem a simple question and answer, but it might not be ... not nationally ... or even in Miami.

Nationally most dispassionate fans not swayed by allegiance or betting interests tend to root for the underdog. But who’s seen as the underdog here? Miami is in the game, by a big 8 1/2 points. But Indiana is historically, going for its first national title vs. Miami’s five (though none since 2001).

Even in Miami, where most would naturally strongly favor the Hurricanes, many fans may lean to a rooting interest for Indiana because of quarterback Fernando Mendoza, a former star at local Miami Columbus High and the first Cuban-American ever to win the Heisman Trophy.

Weighing all of that, what is your rooting interest Monday night?

As always, you may vote as many times as you like or until your fingers ache. Go!

GREG COTE’S POLL DANCE: What’s your rooting interest in Monday’s Miami vs. Indiana college football national-championship game?

Previous Poll Dance result: Too late, but a vote of confidence for Dolphins’ Mike McDaniel: We asked, “Who would you prefer as Miami Dolphins head coach in 2026?” (Great response; thanks.) You said: Mike McDaniel 82% and John Harbaugh 18%. Note: Poll ran before McDaniel had been fired, and when Harbaugh was available. Results were very close before a mysterious surge on McDaniel’s behalf.
