Greg Cote’s Poll Dance: Should Miami Heat go all-in on a Giannis trade? Vote now
Would this be Miami Heat and Giannis Antetokounmpo trade speculation 2.0 or 3.0? Hard to keep track.
Anyhow, the Milwaukee Bucks superstar reportedly wants out, and potential suitors are many as the NBA’s Feb. 5 trade deadline approaches. For what it’s worth, DraftKings betting odds have him most likely to stay with Bucks (at +150), followed by a trade to the Knicks (+240), the Spurs (+600), and then the Heat (+700).
Knicks are his reported preference, but Miami being that high in the odds makes our poll somewhat less than crazy.
Question is, should Miami break up the pretty good thing it has going this season, including several bright young budding stars, to trade for a superstar who turns 31 on Saturday?
It is likely (based on various speculative reports) that Miami would have to give up Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez, perhaps Andrew Wiggins or Norman Powell and two first-round draft picks -- at minimum -- for Antetokounmpo and a couple of stray other Bucks to make the salary exchange work. And that might not be enough.
Should the Heat go all-in on such a mega-deal ... or no?
Vote as many times as you like or until your fingers ache.
GREG COTE’S POLL DANCE: Should Heat go all-in on trade for Giannis?
Previous Poll Dance verdict: Canes or Irish in CFP? It’s a landslide! (What a shock...): We asked, “Should the Miami Hurricanes be invited to the College Football Playoff ahead of Notre Dame?” Huge response, with the result no surprise whatsoever in a Miami-based poll. You said, Yes 93% and No 7%. Landslide!
