Greg Cote’s Poll Dance: What do you expect of Miami Heat this season? Vote now!

What are your reasonable, realistic expectations for the Miami Heat in the coming season that tips off Oct. 22?

You may know: Expectations on the outside are quite low. Latest betting odds at DraftKings to win the NBA championship have Miami slotted 20th of 30 NBA teams, for example. The Heat are rated 10th of 15 in the Eastern Conference -- that’s on the far edge of even making the play-in tournament to get into the playoffs proper.

Is that too pessimistic? Or is that realistic?

I’m aiming for an honest vote with this poll, seeking what you’d bet will happen, not what you hope might. Therefore the most optimistic tier in this poll is not an NBA championship because, well, c’mon. Be serious. Remember: Reasonable, realistic expectations, please.

Vote as many times as you like or until your fingers ache.

GREG COTE’S POLL DANCE: What are your expectations for Miami Heat this season?

Previous Poll Dance verdict: Tyreek a bigger loss than Barkov (hmm): We asked, “Which is the bigger, more impactul injury absence?” Big response. You said: Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill out for rest of year 76% and Florida Panthers’ Aleksander Barkov lost for season 24%. Barkov led big early. We suspect a perhaps-organized ballot-stuffing led to the result, or maybe it was a football-is-bigger-‘round-here-than-hockey verdict. In any case, hey, no law agin’ it. (Still a free country, sort of.)
