Cote: Mayfield stars, Dak holds on, Tua climbs in latest Herald NFL QB rankings

BAKER MAYFIELD WINS WEEK 5, DAK PRESCOTT’S SEASON LEAD NARROWS, TUA CLIMBS IN MIAMI HERALD’S LATEST NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: The 28th season of the Herald’s Passer Success System (PASS) rankings saw Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield win Week 5 honors in a high-scoring week with a season-best 54.95-point game, while Dallas’ Dak Prescott maintains No. 1 for a second straight week but sees his margin diminish. The Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa vaults seven spots to 12th overall off a 39.80-point game that ranked seventh for the week. Our ratings system is cumulative, not percentile-based, rewarding players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching. The onset of bye weeks negatively impacts affected players, but evens out over course of season. Our formula factors accuracy, passing yardage, touchdown/interception ratio and team result. These are passer ratings per se and do not include a QB’s running stats. The 2025 top 20 (plus other Dolphins) entering Week 6:
