JOSH ALLEN WINS HIGH-SCORING WEEK 1, TUA TAGOVAILOA DEBUTS IN A DUMPSTER AS WE KICK OFF OUR 28TH YEAR OF MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: The Herald’s Passer Success System (PASS) rankings begin their 28th season after starting in 1998 with Steve Young the inaugural season champion. The new season unfurl with the Bills’ Josh Allen the Week 1 winner with a big 50.70-point. By our points formula, a game in the 10s or below is D-grade, the 20s is average, the 30s above average, the 40s really good and 50s-plus next-stratosphere stuff. Chargers’ Justin Herbert and Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers chased Allen for the Week 1 crown. Reigning champ Joe Burrow of the Benga;s off the Top 20 chart at 25th. Even worse: Dolphin Tua debuts 29th of 32 starting QBs. Our ratings system is cumulative not percentile-based, rewarding players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching.
