Greg Cote’s Poll Dance: Cost and age vs. starpower: Should Miami Heat pursue Kevin Durant? Vote now!

A disclaimer to our latest Poll Dance: Though ESPN reported the Miami Heat has interest -- for the fourth time -- in acquiring Kevin Durant, it probably isn’t something you’d want to bet on as rebuilding Phoenix shops its aging superstar.

Suns want draft picks and Miami has as many as three first-rounders available to include in an offer. Still, DraftKings odds on where K.D. lands completely ignore Miami, with Spurs the fave at +160, then (in order) the Rockets, staying in Phoenix, Knicks, Timberwolves and longshot Thunder.

Me? I’d much rather see the Heat go all-in to get Giannis Antetokounmpo instead.

But we’re here to play what-if on Durant.

So what if, as the Herald speculated, the Heat’s meeting salary cap requirements was Andrew Wiggins, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, Kevin Love and one or two first-round picks for Durant? Would you do it?

Durant, though turning 37 in September, has averaged at least 25 points, 50 percent shooting and 40 percent on 3’s in three straight seasons -- longest such streak in NBA history.

So, should the Miami Heat purse Durant? Choose the answer that best reflects your opinion.

Vote as many times as you’d like or until your fingers ache.
