Lions’ Goff wins Week 15, closes on No. 1, Dolphins’ Tua slips in latest Miami Herald NFL QB Top 20
LIONS’ GOFF WINS WEEK 15 TITLE IN SHOOTOUT LOSS, CLOSES IN ON SEASON LEAD IN LATEST MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: Detroit’s Jared Goff wins the Week 15 crown in the Miami Herald’s latest NFL Quarterback Rankings with a 56.70-point gamer for his five-touchdown performance in the Lions’ 48-42 loss to Buffalo. Goff became the first QB in NFL history to surpass 400 yards in the air with at least five TDs in a loss. It is Goff’s season-high third weekly title after earlier wins in Weeks 4 and 11. Goff solidifies his No. 2 spot in the season standings and moves within eight points of frontrunner Joe Burrow of Bengals -- the passing lane. The Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa slips two spots to 14th overall. With byes finished we have a level playing for the final three weeks, the home stretch for the 2024 season championship. Barring injuries, we project any of the top four have a realistic shot at the season title, and that any of the top eight still have an outside chance. The Herald’s Passer Success System (PASS) rankings are in their 27th season after starting in 1998 with Steve Young the inaugural season winner. Our cumulative system rewards players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching. Because the rankings are cumulative (not percentile based), players on a bye week took a temporary hit that evened out over the course of a season. Our ratings formula factors accuracy, passing yardage, touchdown/interception ratio and team result. These are passer ratings per se and do not include a QB’s running statistics. The updated 2024 top 20 (plus other Dolphins) entering Week 16:
