Chicago Bears’ Caleb Williams wins Week 6, season race for No. 1 tightens in Herald NFL QB rankings
CHICAGO ROOKIE CALEB WILLIAMS WINS WEEK 6 TITLE, CINCY’S JOE BURROW NARROWLY HOLDS ONTO NO. 1 OVERALL IN UPDATED MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: The Bears’ Caleb Williams wins a low-scoring Week 6 in the Herald’s latest NFL QB Rankings — the sixth different weekly winner. His 42.30-point game is the lowest winning total so far this season. Bengal Joe Burrow narrowly holds onto the overall season lead ahead of The Bucs’ Baker Mayfield, who rises to second place in a virtual dead heat at the top. This was the second week for byes. Because our system is cumulative, not percentile-based, players on a bye suffer a temporary hit that evens out over the course of a season. The Herald’s Passer Success System (PASS) rankings are in their 27th season after starting in 1998 with Steve Young the inaugural season champion. Our cumulative system rewards players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching. Our ratings formula factors accuracy, passing yardage and touchdown/interception ratio as well as team result. These are passer ratings per se and do not include a QB’s running stats.
