Greg Cote Show podcast: We set world record for youngest guests, & David Samson on marathon pooping
When we launched the Greg Cote Show podcast in March 2020, we said our goal was a variety show rooted in sports but leaning unmistakably toward humor and fun. And I don’t think any of our 150-plus episodes since has reflected that vision quite as well as out latest episode out now.
In this episode:
▪ The Le Batard Show last week blatantly stole our idea of making a bit out of having on the oldest guests we possibly, so we strike back with an all-time global podcast record for the youngest guests ever on air. (Are you listening, Guinness?) We interview two who are a combined 3 1/2 months old. You heard that right.
▪ Guillermo, my housekeeper and Jumpin’ Charlie expert, joins us briefly as I seek eye-witness testimony after Chris accuses my house of smelling like dog urine. Hear the official (albeit disputed) verdict.
▪ It comes up -- I have no idea how or why -- that long-distance runners often soil their pants during a competition. We cold-called an expert: Former Marlins president-turned-stellar podcaster David Samson, himself an accomplished triathlete and marathoner. Samson’s answer might surprise you? (Or disgust you?)
This is our eighth episode of 2023 and 154th overall, and we welcome you back as always.
Also in the new show:
▪ Greg shares a medical situation that will cause him to miss the Le Batard Show this week.
▪ Greg tests Chris and Yeti on a pop quiz about 1983 music. Play along and see if you do better than they did.
▪ The sudden popularity of 1440, the number of Greg’s childhood address.
▪ Chris starts a corporation involving Greg and fails to tells his father.
▪ Also: An update on Calmly the royal racehorse; a new edition of Three Facts, Jacks! and our latest Dad jokes.
Hear all of this and more in the newest GCS. Aside from the occasional bonus emergency episode, a new show drops every Monday morning at 7 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify -- wherever else you pod, including of course at miamiherald.com. Find our entire show catalog with all 154 episodes HERE. (The show also simulcasts on Sirius XM radio Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
