Greg Cote Show podcast: Why is Greg screaming at Chris? Also, Jumpin’ Charlie, prop comics & Darwin
The latest episode of The Greg Cote Show podcast, out now, is Three Guys and a Mic. After welcoming in major guests Mina Kimes of ESPN and then football legend Jimmy Johnson the previous two weeks, this week’s show is stripped down -- just Greg, Chris and Yeti, no guest, no script, no plan.
Actually, there was one plan: Chris joins us live from Toronto and we chat up Dolphins-Browns and the rest of the football weekend ... and why he and Roy Bellamy are in Toronto. (Will Roy join in?)
Otherwise the new episode -- our 48th of 2022 and 138th overall -- is random stream of consciousness and this is some of what happened:
▪ Anger. Greg, inspired by the death of Gallagher, the comedian, starts talking about the most notable prop comics and ends up yelling at Christopher in the genuine-angriest tirade Mr. GCS has ever had on his podcast’s air. What set Greg off? Lester Holt, believe it or not.
▪ Jumpin’ Charlie the World’s Largest Puppy returns from a 1-month boot camp. We report how that went, and Greg gets in trouble by veering into dog-fighting, which he wanted edited out of the episode, an ask that typically falls on deaf ears.
▪ Fun facts about Norway, Seinfeld and Charles Darwin.
▪ Former Miami sports radio host Jonathan Zaslow compliments Greg on his new podcast. Which Greg finds hilarious.
▪ Toenails. Quick update on the Tony Kornheiser bet.
▪ Favorite sayings that substitute for cursing.
▪ Greg has some fun with FTX, the cryptocurrency company, filing for bankruptcy and leaving the Miami Heat’s arena without a name.
