Greg Cote Show podcast: Humorist Dave Barry on silly holiday gifts & personal tragedy that shaped him

Greg Cote Show podcast

Pulitzer Prize-winning humorist Dave Barry joins us on the new Greg Cote Show podcast, out now, to discuss his 2021 Holiday Gift Guide, a much-anticipated annual staple in the Miami Herald that Dave admits is every bit as ridiculous as it is fun.

Need a bizarre Christmas gift sure to be the talk of your holiday? Ever dreamed about having your likeness or that of a loved one on a real potato? Then this is the podcast for you.

You’ll also hear Dave discuss being a joke writer for Steve Martin, and being a part of the Rock Bottom Remainders, the all-star writers’ band that features Stephen King and others.

We get serious, too, though, with the beloved funny man. Dave opens up about the personal tragedy that has been a part of his past, including the sense of humor he inherited from his mother who, just months before he won the Pulitzer, took her own life.

I try not to oversell, but I promise our lengthy chat with Dave Barry will not disappoint.

This is our 49th podcast of 2021 and 91st overall and we welcome you back as always!
