Podcast: Amid racial tensions, Greg Cote Show welcomes UM Hurricanes’ new chief diversity officer

The Greg Cote Show With Greg Cote podcast’s Episode 19 is out now, and it is once again it’s the anything-but-predictable roller coaster of serious and fun you’ve come to expect.

We welcome as special guests the woman who fills the University of Miam’s newly created position of chief diversity officer for athletics, taking over in the midst of a pandemic and national racial unrest. She shares stories about her own experiences with racism, and about her talks with UM athletes as their emotions run from anger to concern for their own safety in the wake of the George Floyd killing.

Greg also discusses the insanity of COVID-19 parties in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and a pending return of sports that is fraying with danger and doubts. The Marlins and Inter Miami are practicing again, and the Heat and Panthers are about to, but will their seasons lift off the ground? Or last? We discuss.

Fear not, though. There is levity, too, as we bring you the third installment of the popular occasional series, Greg Doesn’t Know Movies. in which Chris and Michael are out to embarrass their father on his lack of basic film knowledge.

We’re also back with the Mount Gregmore Name Game we debuted last week. This week: The B’s! Find out what is the most popular B name and who will reign as king (...or queen?).

All of this and more in the new Greg Cote Show Episode 19! Find a new episode out every Monday morning on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, Megaphone and wherever else you do your podding, including of course at MiamiHerald.com. Please listen and enjoy — and subscribe, rate and review.
