Podcast: Tua-led Dolphins draft, Tim Kurkjian’s odd obsession and a horse star

The Greg Cote Show With Greg Cote, your official Stay-at-Home podcast, is out with new Episode 9!

For the first time in the brief history of our born-into-a-pandemic pod we get to talk about an actual sporting event that actually happened, not one postponed or canceled. Myself and Christopher dive deep into the Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa-led bounty in the NFL Draft, including what it says about the team’s direction and grand plan. We touch on the Hurricanes’ meager impact on the draft as well.

Podcast gears shift sharply then to a fun conversation with beloved baseball maven Tim Kurkjian and his sound-alike son Jeff, a Las Vegas radio host, including a chat about the father’s strange 20-year obsession.

Clark Spencer also joins the podcast, the longtime former Miami Herald baseball writer who retired, and lucked to buy a small piece of a racehorse that is now on the cusp of qualifying for the (eventual) Kentucky Derby. It’s a wonderful human interest story of unlikely happenstance that just happens to star a friends of ours.

All of that and more in Episode 9 of The Greg Cote Show podcast, out now. Find it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Megaphone, Stitcher and wherever else you get your podcasts, including MiamiHerald.com, of course. Please listen, subscribe, rate and review. No face masks were worn in the making of this podcast; however, a strict adherence to social distancing was in place.
