Prescott, Wilson lead wild race into final week of Miami Herald NFL QB rankings

GIANTS’ JONES WINS WEEK, BUT IT’S A PHOTO FINISH FOR SEASON TITLE ENTERING FINAL WEEK OF MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: Does anybody want to win this thing? It seems not. Five of the top six passers had subpar games in Week 16 to create a jumble heading into the final week of the Miami Herald NFL quarterback rankings. Dallas’ Dak Prescott holds a negligible 1-point lead over Seattle’s Russell Wilson, with anyone in the top 10 having at least an outside shot at the title. This could be our lowest winning season total since 2005, when Carson Palmer won with 487.80. Daniel Jones of the Giants won Week 16 with a 51.60-point game but is well outside the top 20. Of note, former Dolphin Ryan Tannehill of Tennessee moves up to 21st, and Miami’s Ryan Fitzpatrick, off a 44.95-point game that was third for the week, vaults four spots to 23rd. Our rankings, which began in 1998, factor accuracy, passing yardage, touchdown/interception ratio and team result (they do not include a QB’s running statistics). Most major passer rankings, including the NFL’s and ESPN’s, are percentile based, allowing players who miss half a season to still win a title. Our system is cumulative, rewarding players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching. The top 20 (and Dolphins) entering Week 17:
