A new No. 1 and Drew Brees’ Monday show top Miami Herald’s updated NFL quarterback rankings
SEAHAWKS’ WILSON VAULTS BACK INTO SEASON LEAD, SAINTS’ BREES WINS WEEK IN MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: Seattle’s Russell Wilson is back at No. 1 overall, while New Orleans’ Drew Brees wins Week 15 honors with his big Monday night show in the latest Miami Herald NFL quarterback rankings. Wilson owns a slim six-point lead over a handful of contenders for the season crown with two weeks remaining. Brees scored a 60.35-point game Monday, third-best of the season. Miami’s Ryan Fitzpatrick bumps up one spot to 27th overall. Our rankings, which began in 1998, factor accuracy, passing yardage, touchdown/interception ratio and team result (they do not include a QB’s running statistics). Most major passer rankings, including the NFL’s and ESPN’s, are percentile based, allowing players who miss half a season to still win a title. Our system is cumulative, rewarding players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching. The top 20 (and Dolphins) entering Week 16:
