Bucs’ Winston wins Week 14, Cowboys’ Prescott new No. 1 overall in Herald NFL QB rankings
COWBOYS’ PRESCOTT OVERTAKES SEASON LEAD, BUCS’ WINSTON WINS WEEK 14 IN MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: Dallas’ Dak Prescott is the new No. 1 *(for now) in the Miami Herald NFL quarterback rankings -- a lead he owned after Week 1 and not since, until now. Prescott nudges past Seattle’s Russell Wilson. Any of the top six or seven are in contention for the season crown with three weeks to play in an unusually unpredictable race. Tampa Bay’s Jameis Winston takes the Week 14 title with a 51.80-point game (he also won in Week 4) to bump up two spots to 13th. Of note, Tennessee’s hot Ryan Tannehill climbs four spots to 25th, while Miami’s Ryan Fitzpatrick slips two to 28th. Our rankings, which began in 1998, factor accuracy, passing yardage, touchdown/interception ratio and team result (they do not include a QB’s running statistics). Most major passer rankings, including the NFL’s and ESPN’s, are percentile-based, allowing players who miss half a season to still win a title.
