UM to open 2027 football season in Las Vegas. Details and future non-conference UM games

The Miami Hurricanes are headed to Las Vegas. Miami on Monday announced it will open the 2027 football season at Allegiant Stadium -- home of the Las Vegas Raiders -- against Utah.

The game, dubbed “ESPN Events’ 2027 Vegas Kickoff Classic,” will be played Labor Day Weekend. The game date, time and network will be announced far closer to the game. This will be the first time these teams meet in football.

UM athletic director Dan Radakovich said the game “not only gives our program an opportunity to play a great non-conference opponent on a national stage, but also gives our fans the chance to cheer on the Hurricanes in a world-class venue at a destination location.”

ESPN Events, a division of ESPN, owns and operates a portfolio of collegiate sports events nationwide.

“One of the great things about college football is that there are still first-time matchups like this one to capture the attention of fans across the nation,” John Saccenti, executive director of the Vegas Kickoff Classic, said in a statement.

“We have a frequent visitor to our city in Utah playing a national brand like Miami for the first time ever at one of the world’s greatest football venues.”

Also in 2027, the Canes will play host to South Carolina and Troy. One remaining non-conference game must be booked that year.

Here are all of the Canes’ other non-conference games scheduled:

▪ 2024: At Florida at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 on ABC; home against Florida A&M on Sept. 7 (at 6 p.m. on ESPN Plus) and Ball State on Sept. 14 (at 3:30 p.m. on ACC Network) and at USF on Sept. 21 (no time, TV announced yet).

▪ 2025: Home to USF and Florida and Notre Dame.

▪ 2026: Home to Florida A&M and Central Michigan and at South Carolina and at Notre Dame.

▪ 2028: Home to USF and at Notre Dame.

▪ 2029: Home to Auburn and Temple.

▪ 2031: At Notre Dame.

▪ 2032: Notre Dame at home.

▪ 2034: Notre Dame at home.

The Hurricanes will be taking three Western trips over the next four seasons. They will play at new Atlantic Coast Conference members California in 2024 and Stanford at 2026.
