Dolphins, who had 3 Sunday night games in 17 years, reportedly set for third in 11 months
Please check back for Dolphins updates, which will be in bold below.
The Dolphins will get an early season game on what’s considered the league’s marquee prime-time showcase.
According to Pro Football Network and The Score, the Dolphins’ Week 2 game at New England will air on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”
The Dolphins had only three appearances in NBC’s first 17 years as the Sunday night rights-holder, entering last season.
The Week 2 game at New England will mark the Dolphins’ third NBC Sunday night game in less than a year, following NBC appearances against Pittsburgh and the Los Angeles Chargers last season.
The dates of three Dolphins games have now been reported: the Week 2 Patriots game on Sept. 20, a Nov. 5 game against Kansas City in Germany on NFL Network, and a 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26 game at the Jets, on the day after Thanksgiving. The Germany and Black Friday games have been announced; the Week 2 game has not been announced.
3:20 p.m. update: NFL reporter Dov Kleiman reports the Giants will play at the Dolphins in Week 5.
Every NFL team will release their full 17-game schedules at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
