The Dolphins, on the lookout for developmental pass rushers, recently brought California’s Cameron Goode to team headquarters, according to a Golden Bears source.

Goode was highly productive in four years at Cal-Berkeley but is considered a potential late-round pick at 6-4 and 240 pounds.

He started 37 games during four seasons and had 172 tackles, including 36.5 for loss, 20.5 sacks, two interceptions (both returned for touchdowns), two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 13 quarterback hurries.

His 20.5 sacks are 24th most in the conference since the Pacific-10 became the Pac-12 in 2005.

In 2021, Goode was named second-team All-Pac-12, closing with the season with 45 tackles — including 8.5 tackles for loss — and 6.5 sacks, plus four passes defended.

Goode was considered one of the nation’s top defenders who wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine.

Per the Pac-12 media website, at Cal’s Pro Day, he had a 39-inch vertical jump, which would have been seventh best among linebackers at the Combine. He later added a 4.58 40-yard dash (would have been 12th at Combine), 6.91 in the three-cone drill (tied for first), and 4.29 20-yard shuttle (fourth).

Some consider Goode ideally suited for outside linebacker in a 3-4.

The Dolphins play a 4-3 and use a 3-4 alignment at times.

NFLdraftbuzz.com said he “plays fast, flows with the action, showing smooth lateral agility and short-area burst. Has good instincts and awareness to quickly find the ball. Reads the quarterback to anticipate” and “has a filled-out frame with good thickness and plays at full speed at all times with an active motor. Physical tackler.”

On the flip side, that website said he “has lean limbs and needs to get stronger and add bulk to his frame. Must learn to use hands to beat blocks.”

The Dolphins have only four draft picks: 102, 125 and two seventh-rounders (224 and 247), where Goode could be a consideration if available.

The Dolphins also are expected to sign several undrafted rookies.

Teams are permitted to fly 30 non-local draft prospects to team headquarters for predraft meetings, and Goode, Baylor safety JT Woods and Georgia linebacker Channing Tindall are among Miami’s “30 visits,” according to sources.
