Heat gets another participant in All-Star weekend

The number of Heat players who will be invited to an All-Star event has risen to six.

Heat sharp-shooter Duncan Robinson has been invited to the NBA’s 3-point shooting contest on Saturday during All-Star weekend, according to a league source.

That means the Heat will have a player appearing in every event during All Star weekend except the celebrity event, which doesn’t feature active players.

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo will play in the Feb. 16 All-Star Game from Chicago. Adebayo will also participate in the Feb. 15 skills challenge.

Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn will compete in the rising stars challenge on Feb. 14.

Derrick Jones Jr. will be in the slam-dunk contest.

And Robinson was the last to learn of his invite in the past two days, a nice recognition for a player who ranks 8th in the league in three point conversions with 161 and sixth in accuracy at 43.8 percent.

According to Yahoo and Bleacher Report, Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Buddy Hield and Joe Harris have also been invited to the 3-point contest. The entire field will be announced on Tuesday.

NEWS NOTE

Erik Spoelstra said it was undetermined if Justise WInslow (bone bruise on back) will travel with the Heat on an upcoming five-game road trip that begins Wednesday at the Clippers.
