Hail Lateral gives Dolphins a victory over the New England Patriots

Crazy!

Nuts!

Amazing!

The Miami Dolphins just beat the New England Patriots 34-33 on Sunday because, well, lightning struck.

Down 33-28 with only seconds to play the Dolphins completed a modified looking hook and lateral that resulted in a winning touchdown by Kenyan Drake.

And it is amazing to see Dolphins players rush the field in celebration. While others remained on the sideline amazed.

While the Patriots players, including Rob Gronkowski, who was positioned at the 10 yard line, merely stood there because Drake erased the angle he seemed to have.

It goes down as a 69-yard pass for Ryan Tannehill.

It included two laterals.

It was crazy.

And, folks, this saves the Dolphins season for now.

They are alive and still in the hunt in the AFC Wildcard playoff picture.

They are 7-6.

I had actually tweeted, 6-7 seconds before the play.

You’ve heard of Hail Mary plays?

This was the Hail Lateral!
